Stephen Lloyd-Morgan –
`Music of the Night´ – La Duquesa Hotel Saturday
26th July 2008
“On
26th July Stephen Lloyd-Morgan performed at the
5-star La Duquesa Golf Hotel with an evening of
Opera & Musical Theatre to a full-house of over
200 guests.
Stephen´s powerful
renditions of Puccini´s `Nessun Dorma´ and `Nella
Fantasia´ from the film `The Mission´ were spine
tingling.
With confident ease he
enchanted the audience with his extensive
repertoire for over 2 hours, his vocal chords
slipping effortlessly not only between Musical
Theatre and Opera, but also between Italian,
Spanish and English.
In the Operatic first
half of the show Steve wore classic White Tie
and Tails, in contrast in the second, his trade
mark Black Dinner Suit, singing and dancing
amongst the audience leaping from chair to
chair, to the total astonishment of the Hotel
Manager.
The audience’s obvious
delight and applause continued throughout
Steve´s performance, the evening culminating
with the classical duets `The Prayer´ and `Conti
Partiro´ accompanied by the fabulous Miss Lydia
Barrett.
As a fun finale to round
off the evening and with energy still abound,
Steve and Lydia performed Abba´s `Thank you for
the Music´
Immediately following Steve´s impressive
performance, he was invited to open `The Summer
Event 2008´ at The San Roque Club on Thursday
7th August, (www.thesummerevents.com)
with a cross section of his repertoire!
La Duquesa Golf Hotel
have also invited Steve to return for a Charity

singer gave powerful renditions of Puccini´s `Nessun

Mission´ and his vocal cords slipped
effortlessly into Spanish & Italian. He
culminated what was an unforgettable evening for
all with the classical duets `The Prayer´, and `Conti

“We
(8 of us) went to Schooners on Saturday night,
and joined about 70 others in a packed
Restaurant, to hear Stephen Lloyd Morgan and his
guest singer (sorry I did not catch her name)..It
was a fantastic evening and both singers were
outstanding. Their classical duet scarcely left
a dry eye in the house.
The appalling weather did not dampen the spirits
of the audience, who at the conclusion of the
evening’s entertainment, and without exception,
stood, cheered and applauded.
We shall certainly recommend Stephen to
others, and very much look forward to hearing
him again ourselves very soon” -

“….Saturday Music Night with Stephen
Lloyd-Morgan was a real treat. He moved so
effortlessly from musical theatre, to standard
ballads, to a taste of opera and pop classics.
His diction was faultless as was his microphone
control and his charm, and how does he remember
all the words as he moves from one show song to
another….I very much look forward to hearing
Stephen again.”

Stephen Lloyd-Morgan at the
Opera – “What a cracking night! On Saturday 3rd
November, Stephen Lloyd-Morgan sang songs from
opera and musicals to a full house at Il Vigneto.
This man can sing. From the powerful Puccini´s `Nessun
Dorma´; you would be excused for thinking
Pavarotti had been resurrected for the occasion,
to songs from Les Miserables .… Abba and West
Side Story.” -

“….The well known and very
popular Stephen Lloyd-Morgan….not only does he
sing well but he is also an entertainer….
A truly dedicated young man, who
spares no energy in using all of his abilities
and talent to entertain everyone present,
something he achieves with great ease.”

Stephen Lloyd-Morgan and
Lydia Barrett - `Music of the Night´
- 26th July 2008
Well known and popular
Welsh Tenor Stephen Lloyd-Morgan will be
performing `A Special Evening of Opera & Musical
Theatre´ at the five-star La Duquesa Golf Hotel
on Saturday 26th July. Entitled `Music of the
Night´ it will also feature fellow West End
professional Lydia Barrett.
As well as solo
performances which will include Nessun Dorma (Turandot),
Memory (Cats), No Llores por Mi Argentina (Evita),
and Master of the House (Les Misérables), Steve
and Lydia will duet with Music of the Night and
All I Ask of You (Phantom of the Opera), Last
Night of The World and Sun & Moon (Miss Saigon).
They will also perform their popular classical
duet Con Te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye), which
has been known to scarcely leave a dry eye in
the house.
Those who have met Steve
describe him as shy, quiet and extremely
unassuming. It is therefore particularly
surprising that this is the same person who
sings such breathtakingly powerful songs.
Originating from The Rhondda Valley in South
Wales, he is undeniably a born singer and
entertainer who trained at the Welsh College of
Music & Drama and Mountview Theatre School in
London.
Performing a handful of
his repertoire in an evening would be an
achievement for many, but to sing such demanding
songs relentlessly in English, Spanish or
Italian, almost without pause for two hours is
remarkable. Steve is a truly dedicated
professional, evidently passionate about his
art; he somehow manages to juggle his rehearsals
and numerous performances with a full-time job
as a Financial Analyst in Gibraltar.
Steve’s `after-dinner´
entertainment evenings have gone from strength
to strength since he first performed locally
last year and are often sold out. He is
delighted that Lydia has once again agreed to
join him for this special evening.
Canadian by birth but
raised in England, Lydia trained at Arts
Educational School in London and has appeared in
Andrew Lloyd Webber´s original production of
`Aspects of Love´, the original workshop of
`Sunset Boulevard´ and as Jemima in `Cats´.
Other roles include Liesel in `The Sound of
Music´. She works for a property development
company in Gibraltar and also lives in the
Duquesa area.
The evening of 26th July
will begin at 7.30pm with a Cava and Tapas
Cocktail Reception on the terrace overlooking
the golf course. This will be followed by a four
course dinner in the newly refurbished function
suite above the Golf Club. The evening will
culminate in two hours of showstoppers and
classics from Opera & Musical Theatre.
Steve and Lydia welcome
the opportunity to work with local businesses
and very much appreciate the continued support
of The Resident, Manilva Leisure, Andalucia
Life, Glitterati, Spectrum FM, & Cache+.
July 26th will certainly
be the musical highlight of the summer.
Advance ticket only
€65.00 per head which includes all house wines,
beers and mixers. Purchase by 18th July,
available by calling 697 783 942 or from the
offices of Manilva Leisure, Puerto de la
Duquesa. Additional details:-

- May 2008
“In
less than a year Welsh Tenor Stephen
Lloyd-Morgan has gained widespread popularity
the length of the Costa del Sol, but nowhere
more than in his adopted home town of Manilva.

Saigon, West Side Story and popular classics
Nessun Dorma, Con Te Partiro, No Llores por Mi
Argentina (Don´t Cry for Me Argentina), Notte Di
Luce (Nights in White Satin) and A Mi Manera (My
Way). In fact he makes every performance

Stephen Lloyd-Morgan y
Lydia Barrett
-`Música
de la
Noche´
El
tenor bien conocido y popular Stephen
oeste
de Londres.
Así
como los funcionamientos a solas que incluirán
Nessun
Dorma (Turandot), Memoria (Cats),
No llores por mi
Argentina
Sol y luna (Miss. Saigón). También realizarán su
duo clásico popular Con te Partiro (Tiempo a
decir adiós).
Los que
conocen a Steve lo describen como tímido,
reservado y extremadamente insumido.
