The 22nd Anniversary Summer Party
"Caroline Randerson has organised so many
successful fundraising events for us over the past 20 years, including her
renowned annual Summer Party which has been hosted by many famous faces
including Jeremy Beadle, Chris Tarrant and this year, special guest compère will
be Bobby Davro.
In the years before she moved to Spain this would take place in Surrey.
Caroline’s move from Surrey to sunny Spain didn’t put an end to her fundraising.
She decided to hold her annual Summer Party at the famous Villa Tiberio in
Marbella. The restaurant, owned and run by restaurateur, Sandro Morelli, is just
a few minutes walk from Marbella’s prestigious Golden Mile and set within 6,000
square metres of formal Italian gardens.
Her events are always a sell out and to date she has raised almost £500,000
for CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA which is an amazing achievement. This may not have
happened without the support and generosity of many companies and local
businesses, both in the UK and Spain, donating their
services or goods to ensure her events are a success." -

The Charity CHILDREN with
LEUKAEMIA was founded by Eddie and Marion O’Gorman who lost their son Paul to
leukaemia when he was just 14. Nine months later they lost their daughter Jean
also to cancer.
The charity was inaugurated by Diana, Princess of Wales in
January 1988 after she heard about, and was moved by, the O’Gorman’s double
tragedy. She remained interested in the charity and continued to be a source of
inspiration, keeping in touch and giving encouragement until her untimely death
in 1997.
CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA is now Britain’s leading charity
dedicated to the conquest of this devastating disease. Not only do they fund
ground-breaking research into the development of more effective, yet kinder,
treatments, but they have a worldwide programme of research investigating the
underlying causes of the disease.
One of the greatest medical success stories of the last
century is the increase in the survival rate from childhood leukaemia - but
leukaemia still claims the lives of one in five children diagnosed in the UK.
Welfare is another important element of the work of the
charity. Facilities such as the Paul O’Gorman Patient Hotel in Great Ormond
Street help to make the journey through treatment a little easier to bear by
providing comfortable and convenient accommodation for children and families
visiting the hospital, often from far afield, for their many outpatient
appointments. CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA receives no government funding and
without the support and generosity of the general public, their celebrity
friends and many other individuals, their work would not be possible.
